A long time ago in Goolybug, there lived many different creatures of almost every kind. Mostly bugs though. And in Goolybug, these insects and other worldly creatures came together every full moon to become human.
There, in Goolybug, lived a moth named Flopila. She was made fun of a lot because of her name. Everyone said she flopped when she flew so they said the name really fit her. So sad.
Everyone except for another moth made fun of Flopila. This other moth was named, Woisly. Woisly had truly believed that Flopila was a beautiful moth in disguise, maybe even a butterfly. He on the other hand found himself to be not so beautiful and actually jealous of Flopila. He even called her Ila because he felt bad that everyone made fun of her because of her name.
Ila appreciated having this friendship, well, really, her only friendship. In Goolybug, there were thousands of species that lived there. And they lived out for thousands of miles across the land.
One day, Ila found Woisly crying alone in their fancy bug garden.
“Woisly, are you okay? Why are you crying?”
He looked up at Ila and smiled.
“Hello. I see you’ve found me?” he said.
“Yeah. I mean, I heard you crying from pretty far away.” And he chuckled.
“Yeah. It’s just… No one here is nice. They clearly don’t care about their town whatsoever.” Ila stared at him before asking…
“What did they do to you?” In a very serious tone.
He looked back down before standing up from his fetal position.
“They… bullied us. Both of us, Ila! Like, what kind of town are they to bully some of the youngest people in their community.
Ila then grabbed Woisly by the arm and tugged him in a direction.
“Shhh. You do understand that I don’t care about them anymore, so you shouldn’t either.” Ila was taking him to her family’s house. The only place she found relaxing.
“Mom. We have an issue.” She said before walking in with Woisly. Her mom was a hybrid between a moth and a butterfly.
“Oh? Who’s this?” her mom said.
Ila pushed him forward.
“He’s my only friend, Woisly. And people are still bullying him and I.” Her mom’s facial expression changed drastically. She looked like she could kill a being right then.
“Oh?! Well, you can talk with me. I was the one to help my daughter cope with the hate in this town.” She then tugged him away.
Woisly looked scared and all Ila did was stick her thumbs out playfully. He then sighed.
